U16 men’s soccer summer team ends season undefeated

The Springville Travel men’s under-16 soccer team capped off their undefeated season with a 9-2 win over Tri-Town in August to claim the league championship.

Of the many highlights the team provided throughout the season, they were huge thanks to wins over Lancaster and Lockport. In this latest win, the team trailed by a pair of goals with the sole possession of first place on the line.

Dylan Emerling netted Springville 2-1 with eight minutes left in the game before Travis Keem evened things up with three minutes to rebound from a Ben Jenis direct kick for the league’s only tie. team of the season after finishing with a 9-0-1 record. In addition to tying the game late in the game, the team went one player short but persevered.

Many players started the season on the Springville-Griffith High School team, which opened its season with a convincing 3-1 victory at Pioneer on August 31. It was the first season opener victory for the Griffins boys’ football team in several seasons.
