MARQUETTE — Meditate Marquette adds new events for the summer. The weekly walk-in meditation walk-in begins Mondays from 5:30-6:45 p.m. at the Park Cemetery.
Participants will meet just inside the caravan gate to park in front of the community gardens.
An introductory course in mindfulness meditation is also offered from Monday and will last four weeks. The class will also meet at the park cemetery in front of the community gardens from 7-8 p.m. A day of retreat is offered on June 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Joy Center in Ishpeming. This is an opportunity to experience the benefits of adding a longer meditation experience to deepening practices.
Tuesday walk-in meditation sessions continue from 6-7 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, downstairs in the Great Hall. It combines sitting meditation and walking with fellowship and community building. All events are available for free and donations are accepted.
