Rare earth mine Steenkampskraal prepares for AIM and JSE listing

The cap – Steenkampskraal Holdings Ltd (SHL), the the highest quality rare earth mine in the worldhas made three key appointments to further develop the Steenkampskraal rare earths mine in South Africa’s Western Cape and for possible listing on London’s AIM and JSE.

“SHL has all the necessary regulatory approvals to begin mining and produce monazite concentrate. Management also discusses and negotiates pickup agreements with many potential customers. SHL plans to raise equity through a pre-IPO and IPO on London’s AIM market and a secondary listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange,” explained Trevor Blench, Chairman. from SHL.

Graham Soden was appointed administrator and manager of the Steenkampskraal mine. Mr. Soden is a mining engineer with several years of experience as a project manager and as a mine manager.

“Mr. Soden prepared bankable feasibility studies, mine work programs (MWPs) and environmental management programs, as well as completing the review of the mine works program (MWP) for the Steenkampskraal mine submitted to the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) in April 2022,” Mr Blench said.

Timothy Crombie has been appointed director and project manager of Steenkampskraal. He is a chemical engineer and has worked as a physical science teacher, renewable energy project developer and data scientist. He has participated in the preparation of tenders for South Africa’s REI4P program and has experience in the technical, legal, environmental, financial and socio-economic aspects of large-scale projects. Mr. Crombie is also a shareholder of SHL through his investment company, Monoceros Mineral Resources (MMR).

Megan Korber has been named legal counsel to SHL. Ms. Korber holds a BA LLB and is an Admitted Barrister of the High Court of South Africa. His experience includes recruitment, employment contracts, commercial agreements, due diligence and investment regulation.

Ms. Korber has experience in dispute resolution and mergers and acquisitions at a South African Big 5 law firm and in technology-enhanced commercial legal services at a leading international law firm. She is also responsible for the social and social plan of SHL.

Steenkampskraal, as the highest quality rare earth mine in the world, has an indicated value NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimation average content of 14.4% TREO (total rare earth oxides). The resource contains all magnetic rare earths used to make motors for electric vehicles and wind turbines, these include neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium and terbium.

The combined grade of these four magnetic rare earths at Steenkampskraal is 3.49%, which is higher than the total rare earth grades at most other rare earth projects.
