The Wilmington City Schools (WCS) School Board is considering closing East End School, which currently only houses the kindergarten, and moving the kindergarten to Holmes Elementary School where children from kindergarten through 2nd grade attend. On Tuesday, board members visited Holmes to see what a kindergarten absorbed by Holmes would look like. From left to right are WCS Director of Business Operations Curt Bone, Chairman of the Board Michael Flanigan and Vice Chairman of the Board Carrie Zeigler. They are pictured in a space currently used by kindergarten, which would be converted into an area for preschool if the move were to take place.
