NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, MI – Linda Sue Steede, 70, of Negaunee Township passed away Friday, May 27, 2022 at UP Health System – Marquette.

Born October 9, 1951, in Ishpeming, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Jane (Oates) Morris, Linda grew up in Ishpeming, where she attended primary school and graduated from Ishpeming High School, Class of 1969. She is married and has started raising a family. , working outside the home in housekeeping and serving as a caregiver. In 1980, she met her future husband, Donald Steede, and on May 30, 1997, they married in Marquette. They made Ishpeming their home and eventually moved to Negaunee Township in the early 2000s. Around this time, Linda also started working at Wal-Mart as a cashier. She had a knack for small talk, had a compassionate heart, and could be loud at times. The kids said shopping with mom or trying to grab something quick wasn’t possible because she knew everyone and would be at a gabfest. At work, customers would often purposely pass through her line just to visit her, as she remembered everyone by name. However, home was where his heart was. She made sure family always came first and even though she was a badass at times, Linda tempered it all with lots of love, compassion and forgiveness. As for the grandkids, well, she just couldn’t say no. They were the extra blessing in her life after her own children left home, and she liked to greet them with “Where are my lovebug hugs”. The hugs came and she loved it and they loved her.

When she wasn’t doing something with the grandkids, Linda enjoyed crocheting, knitting, spending time on her computer and iPad, playing games and following people on social media. She loved watching The Young and the Restless, probably because the title seemed to describe itself. She will be dearly missed by those who loved her and look forward to the day when hugs will be shared again.

Linda is survived by her husband, Donald; sons, Don (Sue) Jandreau, Dennis Jandreau, Dale Jandreau and Daniel (Lesley) Jandreau; several cherished grandchildren and a great-grandchild; his sisters, Mary Morris, Marlene Clark and Theresa Danielson; her brother, Allan Morris; a niece, Juju McCall and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, David; an infant grandson, Isaiah; and his siblings, Kathleen, Gary and William.
