The city council cancels
June election

Mill Valley City Council voted on Monday to appoint three new members to council and overturn the June election.

The council approved a resolution appointing Jim Wickham to complete the final two years of a term vacated by former council member Tricia Ossa, who left the state in August.

The board also named Max Perrey and Stephen Burke to two open four-year positions. If the election had not been annulled, the two candidates would have presented themselves without opposition.

This decision will save the city approximately $45,000 in election expenses.

Council takes position
on anti-Semitism

The Sausalito City Council passed a resolution condemning anti-Semitism.

The resolution, passed unanimously on March 22 following the circulation of anti-Semitic pamphlets in the county, also pledges to continue implementing an action plan to combat racial discrimination.

Vice Mayor Melissa Blaustein, who provided information about anti-Semitic activity to Marin at a March 8 meeting, asked that the item be placed on the agenda.
