SCHOOL OPENING

The following information regarding the opening of the 2022-2023 school year may be useful to parents in preparing for the school year. Registration information is also available on the district website at www.cusd15.org.

REGISTRATION IN EACH BUILDING:

LINCOLN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 407 S. JACKSON STREET

DOUGLAS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 905 E. MAIN STREET

CLINTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 680 ILLINI DRIVE

JUNIOR SCHOOL, 701 ILLINI DRIVE

HIGH SCHOOL, 1200 STATE ROUTE 54 WEST

WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE FOLLOWING TIMES:

Thursday August 4 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

In order to be accepted for enrollment in Clinton Unit Schools for the 2022-2023 school year, kindergarten students must reach their fifth birthday by September 1, 2022.

BIRTH CERTIFICATES:

All students entering Clinton Unit Schools for the first time are required to present a certified copy of their birth certificate as proof of date of birth. This would include preschool, kindergarten and students transferring to Clinton Unit schools, regardless of age or grade level.

PROOF OF PARENT/GUARDIAN RESIDENCE:

All parents and guardians will be required to present proof of residency upon registration. This can be done by showing a driver’s license, voter card, or photo ID that reflects your address.

PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS AND VACCINATIONS:

Medical examinations and vaccinations are required of the following students: (a) all kindergarten and preschool students entering for the first time; (b) all first grade students who did not attend kindergarten last year and do not have a health record on file; and, (c) all students entering sixth and ninth grades. (d) all new students after kindergarten, sixth and ninth grade. They are also required to provide medical examinations and vaccinations. PLEASE BRING PHYSICAL AND VACCINATION RECORDS TO REGISTRATION. State law requires all of the above students to file a complete medical exam and immunization record by the time school opens August 18, 2022. In addition to the normal requirements, a diabetes screening must be included as a mandatory part of the Health Examination. Lead screening is a mandatory part of the health examination for children six years of age or younger. A dental exam is required for all Kindergarten, Second, Sixth and Ninth students by May 15 of that grade level. Eye exams by a licensed optometrist will be required for all Kindergarten students. Eye exam must be on file by October 15, 2022

Supply lists for preschool through 5th grade will be posted on our website and in each building upon registration.

SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM:

The school breakfast and lunch program will start on Wednesday August 17, 2022.

Breakfast: $1.50 all levels

Reduced breakfast $0.30 all classes

Lunch $2.10 (K-8)

$2.35 (9-12)

Reduced lunch $0.40 all classes

Additional milk $0.35

Kindergarten to 5th grade:

Please note: All course fees are payable with the book rental payment.

Entrance fees for the following sports: football, volleyball, basketball and wrestling.

$0.00 for seniors (62 and over)

Family Pass: $100.00 – The Family Pass allows immediate family access to all football, volleyball, basketball and wrestling contests.

One-time season pass – Number of home games less 1 student/adult/senior fee. This pass is

good for the season it was purchased for.

SCHOOL INSURANCE:

School insurance coverage is provided free of charge to each student by the school district. Brochures explaining this coverage will be made available to students and parents upon registration. If parents have their own insurance coverage, school accident coverage can help fill coverage gaps left by deductibles or coinsurance payments. This insurance is designed to be coinsurance with your insurance plan and coverage.

BOOK RENTAL/FEES:

Parents are encouraged to pay all fees on the date of registration. Any parent who feels they are unable to afford the cost of book rental or meals for their children and wishes to apply to the School Board for free textbooks or free or reduced meals must complete the necessary application forms the day of registration. These application forms must be completed at the time of your student’s registration. Only one form is needed for each family.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL:

Wednesday, August 17, 2022 will be the first full day of school for kindergarten through grade five at the elementary level; sixth grade and new junior high students, and ninth grade and new high school students.

Thursday, August 18, 2022 will be a full school day for EVERYTHING students

ORIENTATION – Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st and 6e to note

Lincoln & Douglas Preschool Parent Orientation on August 17, 2022, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is an opportunity to meet the teacher.

Lincoln and Douglas Schools Kindergarten and 1st Grade Meet the Teacher and Supply Drop Off – August 15, 2022, 2:00-3:00 p.m.

Clinton Elementary School All students meet the teacher and drop off supplies – August 16, 2021, 2:30-3:30 p.m.

Junior High Cooking and Orientation – August 10, 2022, 5:00-7:00 p.m. (all students welcome)
